Early on and what would later develop into Carbawhey, Greg Holtman whose mother was a type 1 diabetic learned at a very young age the effects of certain foods and the importance’s of nutrition. In his search for an all-natural, low calorie sweetener, Greg met and began working with Dr. Lee Zehner an organic chemist and founder of Whey Low Sweetener. From here Carbawhey began launching new products that were healthy alternatives to those in the market.

Carbawhey was first introduced to the market in 2003 by Greg Holtman founder and president of California Soft Serve Concepts, Inc. With the desire for a product in the marketplace that offered a high quality and healthy alternative to ice cream; Carbawhey was born. “It seemed I would always crave ice cream after working out at the gym but I could never find a healthy alternative; a product that was low in calories, tasted great, and was made with whey protein -didn’t exist.” Carbawhey was one of the first pioneers that combined high quality whey protein concentrate with the goodness of America’s leading dessert.

With Carbawhey’s growth unrelenting the need for additional talent was paramount in order to maintain balance. Garrett Blood, vice president, business partner, and high school friend joined forces after getting his degree in Business. With the perfect fit of organizational leadership combined with Greg’s innovative talent, they continue to raise the bar in the industry.
